Research into Chosen Genre
The genre i will be researching into is pop. Pop music is aimed to satisfy the broadest-possible audience through the use of catchy combinations of rhythms and energy within the music videos in this genre, generally lasting between 2-5 minutes in length. 

Most popular genre of music in the UK (in order)
·         Rap.
·         Rock.
·         Pop.
·         K-POP.
·         R&B.
·         Country.
·         Latin.
·         EDM.
It is important that artists appeal to their audience for instance they will wear trendy on the market fashion to create a relationship between them and their youthful audience. They keep on top of new trends with their stylists in order for their target market to think ‘I want to be like her, I love her outfit’. Making the artist an actual role model for the child.
The most popular method for pop genres is to feature love within the narrative this is because the younger generation are obsessed with entire craze surrounding young love. This is why Girlfriend and Baby by Justin Bieber were so popular, as teenage girls were drawn to him being the typical trendy good looking boy at the time singing as song they felt was personal to them individually and hit his target audience perfectly. The entire concept of love entices the young female audience who he wants to attract because they want to be the girl he is speaking of. Boys want to be like him because girls ‘love him’.



There is usually lot of performance in pop music videos as they cannot be full on narrative. The reason for this is that their type of audience wants to see fun from the artists. However, they will need to include some narrative as they want to be seen performing and show themselves as successful artists. Alongside synchronized dancing in pop music videos. Little mix are great examples of this as they always show a high quality performance for their audience in their female pop group. This lets them be viewed as not only talented singers, but all round performers. As today's stereotype that girls can dance but cannot sing so they want to prove people wrong and sell themselves to their audience.
This is a reason as to why women pop groups like Little Mix dance with so much fierce passion.

The colours i choose to go for within the Magazine advert were bright blues, reds, oranges, yellows, pinks and greens. The reason for this is because Charli XCX's target audience is aimed at young teens. I believe the use of these vibrant colours on a poster would best draw their attention. I know from personal experience that magazine ads that stand out the most are acknowledged more than those will bland colouring. Furthermore, the use of tropical colours matches Charli XCX outfit. The red on her heels matches the colour of the 'red balloons' which is a name of one of her songs appearing on her album Sucker. The fonts i chose to use were bold especially the album title Sucker. Making each letter a different colours and each one of them had a set colour of lights. Music Video Target Audience

We made the music video in order to be able to discover who music videos are aimed at and what their favourite type of music video is for that particular age range. We did this by coming up with our own questionnaires that would allow a range of demographic groups to present their view and trends of music videos through a selection of open ended questions. The demographic that music videos appeal to on a whole is the younger generation however, it is clear that some middle age and above still enjoy watching a music video from time to time. My reasoning for this being my result is because teenagers are constantly using social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram etc and therefore, spend more time viewing music videos on you tube because they have more free time on their hands. The purpose of a music video is to influence those people who are interested in purchasing the song to buy into the video. Its most important purpose is too sell the song and evoke a reaction so it leaves you remembering the song. secondly, the purpose of the music video is to give the listener a better understanding of the song. A music video is a promotional tool for the artist. Furthermore, it sells the artist as a product and gains more views widening the acknowledgement of the artist in the music industry. Musicians use music videos because they are a great way to present visual interpretations of the song.
