Question 2 - How effective is the combination of the main product (your music videos) and ancillary tasks (digipack and magazine advert) ? All  of our products link together through the use of the purples within all three of our media products. Firstly, within the music video when the balloon is popped and the purple glitter is released in front of the white screen. The purple is further used within the magazine advert upon the album title and the artists name as well as the main colour in the background on the funky disco light theme. In addition to this we created our digipak the same as this with the background colour too being a soft purple and once again the text being the same colour on the products. The combination between our digipak and music video is highly effective as in both of these products we have included the LED lights. Within the music video we used the Led lights that you plug into the wall and spin round to create the disco theme we needed for our party.

Why are we remaking a music video

The music video we were sent aay to remake the video by Justin Timberlake Can't stop the feeling. We were then split up into groups where we were given sections of the video to begin remaking. Whilst doing the remake it became clear how many actual cuts their were just in one short snippet. However, as we were only making our own version of what was already there it allowed us to be able to do it quickly as we had the music and could watch the video as many times as we wanted. We completed this within school I was with Sam and Frank and we got people in and around school. Mainly from our class and of course ourselves we were able to create the remake.

Question 1 - In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?   Refer back to your research and music video conventions – what conventions did you use that are seen in music videos? The popular media conventions we used for our pop genre consisted of the way in which our artist was dressed in in trend, fashionable clothing that our target audience would relate too. As they would shop in shops such as Topshop where our outfit is purchased from. In the pop genre the artists are expressed in a very sexual and seductive manor as a method of luring the audience in. The artist was to be dressed in a provocative way in order to open up our target audience to males aswell as women. This is clear through the use of the male gaze used upon Amber within the music video and by the outfit she is wearing. Although she does follow this key convention of sexualized dress from the shiny colloutes and belly top. she also challen

Question 3 -  What have you learned from your audience feedback?     *  Gain feedback on your  rough cut  (music vid, digipack and magazine advert) from class, from Year 12, from friends, from parents, from teachers, from on line surveys    In order to see whether our rough cuts were as good as they needed to be we split up individually and went away conducting research through my family. I asked both my mum, brother and dad to review the pr oducts we had created in our group Scorpio Records. The first product I asked them to analyze was the music video. The feedback given consisted of different aspects. For instance my mum asked whether Amber and Danny were meant to be a couple within the mus ic video as she didn’t think it was clear enough that Danny was the boy Amber was going. She believed this would have further aided the narrative if this was clearer but overall the range of shots were good and enjoyed the video. My brother also gave const ructive criticism on ou

Question 4 - How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

Question 4; How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?          When researching into the genre for our music video, we predominantly used Google and YouTube, as they were the most operational tools in order for us to be able to produce the most informative research. Furthermore, we looked at Spotify to select an artist and a song that was not too well known. Furthermore, w e checked to see if the song had been owned by Warner Brothers or other well recognized record labels such as Sony. After deciding on this song we jotted down several ideas on a bit of scrap paper of what theme would best fit this song and then continued t o plan a storyboard of what the video would consist of.  With this information we then proceeded to the computers in order to plan the props we would need and order in time for our first filming dates which took organization as we didn’t want anything miss ing when we began our recording. So we
